Luis A. Aguiar, 71, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on July 25, 2020.

Born in St. Michael, Azores on August 24, 1948, he was the son of the late Victorinho and Conceicao (Raposo) Aguiar.

After coming to the United States in 1967, Luis became a long-time resident of Pawtucket before moving to Cumberland, where he raised his children and resided with his beloved dog, Yogi Bear. Luis was a machine operator at Cooley Group in Pawtucket until his retirement in 2013.

Luis had a love for Harley’s and muscle cars. He enjoyed spending time with his sons & family, taking Yogi for walks at Lincoln Woods, and beach days at Goddard Park; finishing the day with clam cakes & chowder.

Luis is survived by his sons, Darryl & James Aguiar, both of Cumberland. He is also survived by his siblings, Adriana Resendes of Cumberland, Maria Aldina de Medeiros of Seekonk, Jose Maria Aguiar of East Providence, and the late Albert V. Aguiar of Attleboro, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 29th from 5pm until 8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
